All original characters from previous games return to Mortal Kombat 9 and are joined by seven new characters. You might as the player has a chance to take on Kitana, Jade, Reptile, Scorpion, Mileena, Sub-Zero is masked version and Ermac is a new red ninja. Game while a new version still retains some of its older properties such as friendship and babalities. But in this new version, these specific features are more fun than seen in previous games. You might find yourself rolling on the floor because of Cyrax, which has a unique but stupid new dance. While he does this, Kano pops gum in his face.

The new options in terms of moves to wipe out opponents adds great entertainment value to the game that takes it one step ahead of all the previous versions. Improvements in gameplay in this game is important enough to deal with one of de complain that some fans had in the past for example: The game being too easy. However, this new version offers a greater challenge for the players this time because of the gameplay is made a little harder to manage. The true fans of the game might be tempted to go for Mortal Kombat Trilogy upgrade where absolutely every character that has ever been in a Mortal Kombat game to date is included. This would not only allow fans to get a better game Mortal Kombat, but also get a chance to play all their favorite characters from previous games. Needless to say, a fan who gets the trilogy format, would get to enjoy traversing all the characters in this new, fast, action-packed gameplay
